UT Austin
The University of Texas at Austin permits use of protected logos and marks by colleges, schools, units (CSUs), and sponsored student organizations with appropriate prior approval and in accordance with the guidelines for each mark. The university wordmark files are available for download and can be used on printed materials in accordance with the Brand Standards Manual. The Longhorn Silhouette and university seal files may be obtained from the Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing upon design approval.
Learn more about the approval process for each of these units or categories: Academic & Admin, Student Orgs, Corporate Partners, Outside Entities, Filming Projects.
Campus staff, administration and student organizations will use the Internal Request Portal to submit artwork requests.
Other UT System Institutions
Generally speaking, if you are affiliated with The University of Texas System or a component institution and wish to use a protected mark on product, follow these steps:
-
Determine how you want to use the protected mark and review brand standards. Internal requesters are encouraged to contact their respective university marketing/communications office for assistance with university lock-ups/unit signatures. This will help to avoid unnecessary delays in the approval process.
-
Select a licensed vendor from the approved list of vendors for your institution.
-
Fill out and submit a request form on the portal (UTEP, System only) or the licensed vendor will submit the artwork through Brand Manager 360 for approval prior to production. The Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing will review your request, which typically takes three to five business days.
**Logos and marks may not be used in any way that would constitute endorsement, approval, or underwriting of any corporation, product, activity, service, or contract by any UT System institution.
